There is a 5-piece set available that gives you an 8 and 11-inch griddle pan and a 9.5-inch grill pan with 2 lids. At the time of writing, the price is about the same as the 3-piece round pan set above.

Given that they are of the same materials, they share common pros and cons mentioned above. But on top of that, there are also 2 specific problems related to the square pans. The first problem is the stainless steel plate on the bottom of the pan. This heating plate is round while the pan is square. As a result, the center will heat up faster and hotter than the corners. Effectively, what you will get is uneven heating for the whole pan.

The second problem that confronts some users is a raised center. Hence, the oil will flow toward the edges. This could happen right out of the box. For others, they believe the pan has warped slightly with use to cause this problem.

    I am very disappointed in this product. For the first few days it was working as advertised. Now after 2 weeks of use it is like any other pan out there you can buy for $10 at Wal-Mart. EVERYTHING sticks to it! It’s now just a another worthless piece of metal in my cabinet. It’s a complete waste of $30 plus tax.
