CeraStone ceramic cookware is a pretty new brand name in the market. It has a few product lines catering to different price points as well as style. Under review here is the CeraStone Pressure Forged Ceramic Cookware, available as a 10-piece set.
CeraStone Pressure Forged Ceramic Cookware Review
If you are buying the 10-piece set, you will get the following pots and pans in the box:
- 1-quart covered saucepan
- 2-quart covered saucepan
- 3-quart covered saucepan
- 5-quart covered Dutch oven
- 8-inch fry pan
- 10-inch fry pan
=> Check Price
The set is available in both black (PFS1016) and red (PFS1023). There are also a few open stock pieces available and those that will complement the above would be a 11-inch chicken fryer, 11-inch fry pan, mini 0.5 quart saucepan and 5-inch omelette pan.
The fry pans and pots are made of 5mm and 4mm aluminum respectively. The interior features their own StoneCoat 2020 with diamond infused technology which is claimed to be one of the best performing (if not, the best) ceramic coating in the industry. The performance is also comparable to Teflon but is completely PTFE and PFOA free. The exterior has a matte finish with heat resistant paint.
The handles are Bakelite with high polish for a classy look. The pieces also have an induction base to make it suitable for a range of cooktops such as halogen, gas, electric and induction. They are also both dishwasher and oven safe.
Should You Buy The CeraStone Pressure Forged Ceramic Cookware?
Pros
- Red color – You can get this cookware in red and the right color pots and pans do sell. Whether it is to match the other pieces in the kitchen or to have a more modern look, this CeraStone set certainly looks bright and nice in its red shade. Other 10-piece ceramic cookware sets that also come in red are the Cook N Home Nonstick and Bialetti Aeternum.
- Surface does not stick – The StoneCoat 2020 does perform as expected with easy food release. When food does not stick to the pan, it also means cleaning is easy with little scrubbing needed.
- No crevices – Unlike most pots and pans with handles that are riveted to the body, food and sauces can get stuck in the crevices of the rivets, making cleaning a hassle. For the CeraStone Pressue Forged series, the whole interior is smooth, which would be a welcomed change for some.
- Heats up quickly – With a 4mm and 5mm aluminum construction, the pieces do heat up fast since the element is a good conductor of heat.
Cons
- Untested – Since this is a relatively new cookware in the market, the customer feedback and reviews of this product are still few in number. But there are already complaints of the durability of the interior coating which did not last beyond a few months as well as the paint running and chipping on the outside and on the handles although such complaints are in the minority at this time.
- Price – The price of the CeraStone Pressure Forged Ceramic cookware set is not cheap. It costs twice as much as the Cook N Home and still slightly more expensive than the popular WearEver Pure Living sets at the time of review. Of course, it is cheaper than the Cuisinart Pro-Classic Ceramic, but Cuisinart is a well-established brand which already has a premium attached to its name compared to CeraStone.
Granted the CeraStone ceramic cookware is not prohibitively expensive and at the time of review, you can get this 10-piece set for less than $130. This is a price point that buyers could still feel comfortable trying out despite the lack of reviews overall.
But comparing the CeraStone with WearEver Pure Living, the latter has been around for a while and has garnered hundreds of positive customer reviews on Amazon. So, if you are unsure of the risk, going for the tried and tested could still be a safer option when shopping for ceramic cookware.

I loved these pans at first. I have had them for a month and now the inside is turning black and it looks awful. I can’t get it clean and I am not happy with it. I will be contacting customer service today to get some customer satisfaction or my money back. I am very disgusted with these pans
Sounds to me you are cooking on more than medium heat and probably put them in the dishwasher. You need to read the instructions
We are sadly disappointed. It is magnetic on the bottom. The manufacturer stated it would work on an induction burner- it does not.
Our induction burner requires a 4″ bottom which it is but it does not work. That was the sole reason we purchased it. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE MANUFACTURES CLAIMS. The handle allows water to get trapped between the handle and the glass top. Troubling!
I also loved these pans at first. I have had them for couple of months and the inside turned black and it looks really bad. I can’t get it clean and I am not happy with these pans. I bought them because of all the hype about toss the teflon!! i had lots more problems with these pans chipping and staining. Do not buy these pans you will regret. like throwing money in the wind. I was so disgusted i bought new pans again.
I love my cera pan cookware they are great. We bought our daughter some and she loves them so much she wants them to make a cookie sheet and cake pan as well. You can’t put them in the dishwasher but who needs to when all you need is a paper towel and they wipe clean. I rinse them with hot water once in awhile but that is it. The food cooks evenly and in less time than other pans. It is like anything else read the instructions and all is good. If you don’t have any you should.
This is all very interesting. I just purchased a Cerastone titanium pan. Haven’t even tried it out yet because I can’t locate any information on “curing” the finish before use as with all the other cookware with non-stick finishes. So that’s a mistake on the part of Cerastone. Either tell how to cure it, or state that it does not need curing. Would be a good sales feature.
Next on my agenda is the information that the pan needs to cool before immersing in water to ‘extend the life of the coating’. How about before adding cold ingredients to hot ingredients in the cooking process, like when blanching, what happens then?
Next the information sheet says to ‘wash in warm water with a soft cloth’. No dish soap necessary? OK, I can go with that because that’s how I keep my cast-iron skillets in a non-stick perfect condition. ‘Food particles that remain on your pan tend to become harder to remove after continued use.’ I’m curious, is this perhaps the reason consumer Brown’s pans are black? Or, once the ‘new’ wore off and the pans were no longer non-stick does the oil, non-stick spray and grease leave residue that continues to discolor in the pan? Hummm.
Next, there is only one reference to the pan being non-stick: “One of the benefits of natural ceramic coating that it is naturally non-stick, so most food particles and cooking oils will wipe off easily with a clean dry cloth.” Later it states that “Hand washing your cookware in warm water with soap is always your best choice.” Therefore: the instructions to clean in warm water with a soft cloth are not correct? I’m confused. It sounds like a way out for this relatively new product to not perform as ‘non-stick’ because whichever way it is cleaned, it won’t be cared for according to mfg directions. And it’s not significantly noted as’ Non-Stick’ so much as it is assured to be ‘the healthiest natural coating available in cookware today’ so why are we consumers expecting it to be so? Our wishful thinking!
One last note: I purchased my pan at Burlington so of course the price was greatly reduced to $16.00. The same product is available today on Amazon for over $50.00. So for the price of two specialty coffee’s, I thought it would be worth a try.
There is a call center listed: 1-855-351-8261. Maybe someone will really answer the calls and straighten this all out before I use my skillet?
Maybe I should have got coffee instead?
You are not the only one. I have not had these pans for more than a month and things stick, cannot get them clean and one did get a scratch in it. My T- Fal pans are over three years old and work better than these pieces of crap. Don’t waste your money!!!!!
Have had my CeraPan for about six months. Worked well for about a month, then virtually everything sticks to it. Even if I use butter or olive oil, still sticks. I’m highly disgusted with with the pan. My lesson here, I guess, is not to buy cookware from Safeway. It’s a ripoff in all respects. And, of course, CeraPan is off the hook because, apparently, there is no quality control and no refund for a lousy product.
I have one of the skillet none stick everything stick in it even if you put oil in first I was so disappointed it goes in the trash and I wont buy any more. Hope every one else has better luck with their.
I got one pan for my birthday and while I was pleased with the look and color of the pan, it feels likevery thin and cheap and after couple uses the inside center of the pan started to turn dark and food sticked to the center. And food on the sides would never get brown. I will never buy it again.
There are many comments on the this page about dissatisfaction on theses pots and pans. I also loved then and within 2 month, they had started to get black in the middle and I am a diabetic and need to watch carbs and fats. thought these would be great. but not so much anymore.
I bought an open stock Dutch oven (Cast Iron) about two months ago and have used it a dozen times. It looks the same as the day I brought it home. I’ve mostly made stews and such but today browned a pork loin. Very easy to clean with just a few swishes of hot water and dishcloth, no soap. I love mine, will look for Cerastone again.
P.S. I read the instructions, and follow them.
10 inch pan. Fierce a couple of months things started to stick,..now basically everything sticks. Even tried olive oil – no help. Almost always cook on low heat, rarely go up to medium. Read the warranty,..sounds like nothing is covered if it doesn’t do what they advertise it will.
